Ultimate Program
Teams
'Hat' format means players enter as individuals and are placed onto teams with a variety of experience levels. Teams are drawn from the hat on the first day and remain the same throughout the weekend. The tournament is mixed and all teams are split 4m/3f (unless agreed otherwise by captains).
Rules
The tournament will be played according to WFDF rules (updated 2009) with the following modifications. If you need to revise before the tournament, look here: http://wfdf.org/rules/
In summary:
- Points cap: 15 points, win by 1
- Time cap: 70 minutes. When time cap is called, there are two remaining throws before the end of the game. In other words, the game ends at the completion of the next two throws after the siren. If the score is then tied, this score stands. There are no time-outs after time-cap.
- Draws: Drawn games (eg. 8-8) are counted.
- Half time: 3 minutes duration, when one team reaches 8 points.
- Time outs: 2 minutes, teams are each permitted 1 time out per half, maximum 2 per game. No time outs are permitted after time cap has been called.
- Tiebreak: in the event that two or more teams have the same win/loss record (or number of points) at the conclusion of the round-robin matches, the higher placed team will be decided by spirit scores then by application of the standard win/loss tiebreak rules set by WFDF.
- Finals: Final will be played to 70 mins, points cap at 15, win by 1. (At time cap, complete the point, winner decided. If scores are level, next point wins.) Teams are permitted one time out per half, maximum two per game.
